Jade

This is a semi-precious stone with a millenarian history, which has been used by different cultures, specially in Asian countries. Jade is classified in two types worldwide, a variety known as Jadeite and another known as Nephrite, depending on the dominant ore. Our mine is a Jade Nephritic mine with predominance of the Tremolite-Actinolite mineral, Silicate of calcium,
Magnesium and Iron, with typical texture felted, characterizing the nephrite variety.

Our jade: Nephrite
Nephrite is the most common type of jade, and also softer than jadeite. It is also originally considered “Jade” in Asia. It also has been carved for long time in Asia and most common colors are dark or light ”green”, followed by white and yellow as well. Chemical structure is amphibole silicate(Magnesium/iron silicate) in the actinolite series.

• Mine
Mine is located 370km west of San Fernando Valley in northern Argentina. Deposit lies in mountainous area with altitude of 1900m above sea level.

• ​Working site

Jade mines are worldwide classified in to types, a variety known as Jadeite and another know as Nephrite, depending on the dominance Nephrite jade mine, with predominance of tremolite-actinolite mineral, silicate of calcium, magnesium, and iron, with typical texture felted, characterizing the Nephrite variety. It is iron in big proportions that gives the rock the typical dark green color that characterizes this jewelry variety. When there is a greater prevalence of calcium, the rock acquires lighter shades to almost white.
The impurities of chromite, magnetite and graphite, which give a particular imprint to jade in each region are also common.

The main vens are oriented almost north-south, with a swarm of minor veins southeast directed. Jade mine is in the process of exploring, aurveying and mapping, additional vein to current site. The mineralization fills open spaces of fractured areas of the ancient Precambrian basement.
The wallrock that hosts the Nephrite jade is serprentine, a black rock, ultramafic, who has suffered episode of alteration and circulation of hydrothermal fluids giving rise to Nephrite.
